Default help me buy a leather couch

help me please if you have bought a couch recently, thanks

i'm looking for a new leather couch for my apartment. 2 or 3 seater. i don't mind spending a bit more for quality, but still want to get the best deal possible.

are department stores like macys or jcpenny the way to go? or local furniture superstores like raymor&flannigan?

I bought one and its the worst piece of furniture I've ever owned. Leather couches are not comfortable at all. Don't buy one.

I got mine from Hechts (now Macys, I think) and love it.

I have a brown suede couch and love seat set, purchased from a local furniture superstore at a 40% off sale.

Actually, today is probably one of the best days of the year to buy something like that.

I love my couches, the only thing I would've done differently would be to go with darker brown instead of tan, they're starting to show a little wear (but it's been like 7 years).

Do you sleep on your couch? if so, Id suggest not going with leather, or sleeping on a blanket on top of the couch. Some leather couches are really not comfortable, some are.

I have something similar to this, which isnt too comfortable, but I have a leather recliner that is, so the couch is for guests.

My friend has a couch like this, and it is really comfortable:

If you are going to go leather for the coach (I'd recommend against it, but to each his own) then either this style or a classic club room style is the best bet. Pottery Barn has some affordable club room style couches that are very nice last time I checked. A club-room style couch is the kind of leather couch that would feel like it belongs in the waiting room at Houston's (the restaurant chain).

We just bought one after 6 months of research.

How much do you want to spend? Quality starts at about $1200.
