Default Talking at night.

I've noticed that in most turbos talking at night has become mod allowed. I'm personally against this. I think this only gives the village an advantage; the wolves should be allowed to talk during the night without worrying about posting during the night to blend in with the village.

Is there any logical reason why the turbos are starting to allow night posting? I'm all for not deleting accidental posts, but night should be a time for the wolves to talk and only the wolves to talk.

OTOH, in the turbo running now, there is no night talk. I posted probably 1 second after the mod's night post was up and warned that 1 more night post would result in mod kill.

Posts coming in a minute or two after night declaration should result in reprimand, not ones 2 seconds late.

I guess my final stance is: no night posting, but with a small about of leeway for accidental posts (those that are obviously not angling).

Don, I agree with you on the two second leeway. My stance is a little harsh as mod of the current game, but I'm going to try to prove a point.

Sorry its against you; you've had your one-post warning.

Horn, FWIW, I had this typed in notepad while we were waiting for the game to start.

Nich's "can we talk at night" post prompted it. I was a little pissy on the warning, however.

Sorry Don, its nothing personal against you. If you want to discuss more later, that's cool. I'm just trying to see how this type of enforcement would work.

there have been ZERO issues with the talking at night turbos

nobody has even angle shooted about the 'he didn't talk at night so he's a wolf'

villagers should NOT be talking much at night because

a) helps wolve make eating choice

b) fills up the thread with crap, which harms the village

so it's a non-issue

and, villagers have been respecting that...in many turbos there have been less night talks than some non-talking turbos...there are no issues with people getting mad, mod getting mad or killing, etc

basically, there is no issue or controversy like there are with "silent night" turbos

the first one we played i was a wolf. i was concerned that i wasn't talking at night.

night is a part of the game for a reason.

i think a solid compromise would be to allow posts timestamped 2 min after night declaration.

but nobody voted for u because u didn't talk, did they?

most VILLAGERS don't talk at night, so that is a HORRIBLE strategy to vote off non-night talkers...in fact, paranoid wolves are more likely to talk at night

so it should basically be rand() and thus not a useful strategy

therefore, stop being paranoid

again, there are NO issues with it...the ONLY problem is one of perception...u guys have always played with 'silent night' and so u think that's the way it should be...but again, nobody can give me a really GOOD, LEGIT reason why we should have 'silent night'

I disagree. I have seriously disliked every turbo with night talking
