Default Teaching a beginner

This is probably a silly question so flame away, but does anyone know the best source of information for teaching beginners sng strategy? I realize I'm asking this in a sng strategy forum, but this person does not know anything about poker, and it seems the information in this forum would not help him very much until he gets at least a basic understanding of the game. I know I should probably teach him the basics myself, but to be honest I don't know him very well and I am also extremely lazy. So if there is a respected outline of sng strategy for beginners out there somewhere that I could refer to him to, it would be much appreciated.

XX,

nah, I watched ed's "queer eye" episode last night and he was like "zomg my beginner's book is the nuts, read it" so yeah, and stuff.

i haven't read it.

but also, i don't know if yo'ure trying to teach someone sngs from scratch, or holdem, or what? if you're trying to do sngs it's different, since it's probably quite possible to beat significant games without having to know things like what hands beat what.

2 easy steps
1) Play super tight early
2) SNGPT

Also there are helpful threads outlining basic strategy.
Even though beginner knows nothing about poker, you should be able to teach him the super easy early strategy.

He doesn't know anything about poker, but I'm pretty sure he could learn quickly. He's actualy my online chess instructor (I've never met him, just know him online), so he's a smart dude. I basically just recommended the Ed Miller book you suggested, telling him it was "strongly recommended" by people in a poker strategy forum, and you haven't read it, lol. It's Ed Miller though, of course it's good. At first it'd probably be better for him to learn general poker strategy, but after that I want him to start in sngs since that's what I know best so I can help him better along the road.

PS was Ed Miller really on "Queer Eye?" lol

Whatever happened to the beating party $11s post that used to be around here?

Ha I think I was one of the concieted a-holes that said I could teach someone from scratch in a day in that thread. I realize now this is probably untrue, but am far too lazy to find out anyways.
