PS $20 /180 S&G Question
This may sound like a bad beat story, but it is a strategy question. About 61 left my stack is 3640 blinds are 100/200 and I am co with two red aces. Folds to mp + 1 w/ 4600 in chips, he raise to 527, I call trying to trap, this guy has played poorly and has gotten lucky a lot. Folds to BB who pushes all in for 2890 more mp +1 calls I raise for 750 more and am all in & mp+1 calls. BB has AJ off, MP+1 has 5c,6c. MP+1 makeas a straight on the turn. My question is this, have any of you seen this kind of poor play this deep in the 180? This was my first one and I will play many more, should I expect this kind of bad play from some of my opponents this deep in general and adjust my play accordingly? I figrued all the riff raff would be out at this point?

Re: PS $20 /180 S&G Question
Yeah you'll see bad play like trapping from the CO against a bad player by smoothcalling a 2.5xBB bet with AA ALL the time in these things.

Re: PS $20 /180 S&G Question
Bad Play???????????????? I knew this guy had nothing, and I need to double up, the table had been very tight at this level. Also, my goal was to get all in PF, which is what happened. MP should not have called BB's all in he was an idiot and didn't want to win. He still had a sizable chip stack to continue, if it is heads up between me & MP w/ no more raising PF, I have the discipline to throw AA away when I think I'm beat after the flop. This is how you play poker!!!!!

His raise was dinky, and you're in a crap spot if the button and both blinds call. He called an allin with 65 and you're telling me it's an error to raise your AA b/c you want his money? Then go get it! |

[/ QUOTE ] I have a better goal for you, make your goal be to win with the aces, and work towards not only getting all-in, but winning the all-in. My advice is to work towards acheiving goals. You don't get all-in preflop by folding the aaces, do you think it is more likely that a "bad player" will call your reraise, or that someone in the blinds will try to squeeze play you. |

Re: PS $20 /180 S&G Question
I thought one of the blinds would squeeze. I had seen both do it several times in the last hour. If not I do have the discipline to throw AA away in a mulit way pot, which could have happened and I knoew that. I was taking a chance that someone would aqueeze. I was right then got unlucky, that's poker.

Re: PS $20 /180 S&G Question
"and I am co with two red aces"
I always get a kick out of this, stories that include the color of the Aces or Kings. The red ones are lucky. The black ones are a bad omen, they should be folded PF. |

Re: PS $20 /180 S&G Question
Just trying to give all the facts, people flame when I do not, the color to me does not matter, but to others on this site it does.
