Default STT ROI/Fin in the $ Question

Well i've played STT's for a while now but finally broke down and started using pokertracker. I am trying to get about 20-25 tournies in per week. So far this week I have played 21 with a ROI of 73.16% and a Fin. In The $ of 57.14%. I think I am to the point where I make good decisions when we get 5-7 headed that have put me in the $$$ for a decent %.

Are these numbers a good start? I understand it is a very small sample size, but I would like to know if I am headed in the right direction. What are considered "good" ROI and Fin. In the $ when evaluating a larger sample size??

Check the FAQ for what 'good' or 'standard' might be

...but while its possible you suck and are just running very hot - you *might* be on the right track as well...

too early to say/tell

keep reading the forum and shtuff and see what the next months bring.

Thanks for the help. I'll try and post updates when I reach 100 SnG's and then again periodically, possible 500+. Maybe then I can gauge where I am as it pertains to being successful.

Did most of you start with 10+1's and then move up when you played a certain # of tournies or when you had a solid win rate? I am think I should play atleast 500 at this level to build a good bankroll and works out kinks/develop my strategy.

Skip the updates until you hit 500. Even then, the answer is in the FAQ. As for moving up, just make sure you beat the current level by a good amount and have enough buy ins for the next.

Do some searches on bankroll management to get some perspective on what a healthy roll would look like for each level. At lower levels, you can get away with having 30 buy-ins to moveup. I'm conservative and have huge risk of ruin fears, so I usually wait till I have 50. To each his own.

You could be sheets and stats after 21 tourney wouldn't matter.

Let me put it this way: Over a previous 300 tournaments, I've made no profit. Then, over the last 50 tournaments, I've made up all the money (nearly).

I move up whenever I have all three of these conditions met:

1) A fair amount of SNGs at the level (at LEAST 1k)

2) A SOLID bankroll for the next level. I didn't move up to the 15+1s until 1k$, even though I was beating them a few months before. It's a good thing I didn't, too, since I ended up "moving up" six times and then moving back down. That's important! If you've lost a certain amount of money, move back down.

3) I feel I'm beating my stake well and am making few mistakes. Of course, I still analyze my hands every day and so on.

let me put it in perspective for you: if you finished 9th in every single one of these 21 tournies, i would have no better an idea of how you play, or how good/bad you are.
