** Official Brazil v. Croatia thread **
I think it's been a great World Cup so far, the USA stinker notwithstanding. Pre tourney favorites Argentina and Holland have looked strong, and Italy, England, and the hosts have come away with victories. I now feel like I'm sufficiently warmed up to watch the consensus beat team in the world, Brazil.
Croatia is no minnow, and has hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals, so I don't think the game will be a rout. This quote by the Croatia coach, though, makes me believe we could see some goals this afternoon: "We aren't just looking to counter-attack, we always want to play our own game," said Kranjcar."

I think Croatia are in a lot of trouble here. They cant afford to concede to many.
Look for Ronaldo. Nothing more dangerous than a champion with a big point to prove.

is ronaldo the same #9 from years ago or is he a younger player, evryone in our neighborhood has that #9 jersey , also brazil is -168 on pinny to make semifinal, i thought it was a given that they made it far but that seems low. disclaimer: i know nothing about soccer but have enjoyed watching it, and we live in latino section of boston and always a lot of soccer games going on our street that i also watch.

Brazil will have to play Italy or the Czech next round, it's going to be a really hard game (specially since they're garanteed to get owned on the wings and in transition).
