I always though life insurance was kind of lame but you see so many advertisements for it. You would think that people would rather have insurance that actually provides them with some benefits. If I die, my life insurance will help my survivors but what about when I get in a car accident and am paralyzed from the waist down? Or burned in a fire? Or get some wierd disease that cripples me? Health insurance will pay medical costs but that won't replace the lost wages and awesome life I was going to have. So why isn't there some kind of "my life got f'd up" insurance? I suspect that life insurance is popular solely because it's easy for the insurance companies to calculate risk and costs so they market it heavily.

I suggest you learn more about insurance before asking questions like, "How come there's no insurance to cover lost wages?"
