Default $55 - JJ on bubble

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t600 (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG (t4220)
Button (t5708)
SB (t3802)
Hero (t6270)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG raises to t1800, Button calls t1800, 2 folds Hero?

I had some reads that made this decision clearer, but I'd like to hear what you do without them.

If UTG is not super-tight, i would push.

Those reads would be real nice.

UTG is either looking for action or leaving himself an out by not shoving preflop. This is the most important part of the hand to me; figuring out what utg's purpose is. I am not as worried about button UTG seems fairly committed and if Button had a strong hand he would probably shove.

So my guess is that UTG has been fairly active, and button has a hand like KJ, KQ, AT. Button cold calls because he doesnt think he has any fold equity, and would like to hit a flop before committing. It could be a shove given that scenario, but in the heat of battle I would probably fold and let them battle it out.

Shovers,

What is your plan with TT/99 in this situation, and why?

Shove with TT and 9 9 literally the only thing to be worried about is the button smooth calling aa and kk.

How about 55-88 then?

I'm guessing that you don't mind showing down vs. UTG, but would definitely rather button fold? I couldn't see button's coldcalling range being looser than KJ+?

I can see the upside to pushing though... I dunno. Perhaps some more discussion could smooth this out.

edit: or some smart math maybe?

edit edit: or it is a clear push and I'm a nimrod that needs to understand why.

i think that 55-88 are a fold and maybe even 99. if called opps are sure to have 2 overs or be dominating. jj atleast makes it less probable of opps to have overs and maybe a hand like a9 or a10 would call.

Fold. Let them fight. UTG is commited, and if you loose a coinflip to him you are crippled. Would button cold call with AA/KK/QQ here?

You are the big stack on the bubble and are thinking about folding JJ when you have some fe and huge overlay. Anything other than push is terrible.

Without a read, I'd push. Both stacks should be calling you with almost nothing.
