Hits a game tying homer in the bottom of the 9th and inbetween innings he slaps hands with all the fans on the way out to RF.
Any opinions? I think he is a goof. But living in NY all I hear is Mets fans defending him. I bet if a Yankee did this like Cano last year, they would be down his throat. I hope the Giants hit him next time they play each other. I am not a Mets or Yankees fan fwiw. |

I thought it was genuine and pretty cool. Guy got caught up in the moment and shared that with the fans.
Do you also think that Cal Ripken was a tool for jogging around the field after breaking Gehrig's record, or Wade Boggs for hopping on the back of a horse? |

sj - it's ok to celebrate if you're a white dude who has played in 2,131 straight games. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously though, this kid is cool. Somebody needs to bring baseball to Generations X and Y. Might as well be an enthusiastic kid in New York, right? |

Did he high five the fans when going out to the field to play the bottom? Or directly after the homerun?
If it's the former I like it. If it's the latter bean him. Edit: I need to comment on the awesomeness of his name. |

heres my post from the mets thread:
Lastings Milledge is a total baller, I cannot believe all the people criticizing him for high fiving the fans. He wasn't dancing around or something stupid like that, just showing some love to the fans who were going crazy. I think it's awesome when players get into it like that and show passion for the team they play for. I think it's a shame if the Mets organization end up squashing this. When you are a fan stuff like this is what really makes you love the game. It should be done very, very rarely but this was clearly appropriate. Milledge was playing in his 5th game and hit his first career home run to tie the game and send the mets back out onto the field, and the fans had been giving him a ton of support so he went and high fived them. [ QUOTE ] I hope the Giants hit him next time they play each other. [/ QUOTE ] You've got to be kidding me. |
