Default The Office: BBC or NBC??

I watched the BBC version from Netflix a while back and really enjoyed it. I am now watching the American version and while funny it doesn't match the BBC version IMO. For those of you who have seen both which one is better? Maybe the Office (NBC) gets better later in the season I have only watched about 4 episodes so far.

Yeah I agree with this...I think its Ricky Gervais and how well he plays that character. Garreth is a main part of my BBC bias as well.

It's close.

The downer of the final episode of the BBC version (Ricky Gervais trying to hold on to his 'celebrity' by making humiliating personal appearances) kind of dragged my feelings about that show down a bit.
The NBC version continues to get better and better, although it has the potential to go overboard with the Jim/Pam romance angle.

The ending of the second season was the downer. Brent making celebrity appearances occurs in The Office Special. In which the ending is anything but a downer.

I think this is a perfect addition to the "Things people like..." thread. Even though the US version is pretty funny, anyone who likes it more than the BBC version probably means I will not like them very much.

For our American friends, the 'Christmas Special' you can buy is actually these 2 parts joined, so don't look for a second one.

BBC, not close.

NBC one is very good, though.

Said it before: Dwight Schrute is THE comic character of the last 3 years.

Pretty girl on the hood of a Cadilac, yeah....
She’s broken down on freeway nine.
I take a look and her engine’s started,
I leave her purring and I roll on by.... Bye bye

(Chorus)

Free love on the free love freeway,
The love is free and the freeway’s long...
I got some hot love on the hot-love freeway
I ain’t going home cos’ my baby’s gone

A little while later, see a senorita,
She’s caught a flat trying to make it home,
She says ‘Por favor, can you pump me up?’
I say ‘Muchos gracias, adios. Bye Bye.’

(Chorus)

Free love on the freelove freeway,
The love is free and the freeway’s long
I got some hot love on the hotlove highway,
Ain't going home ‘cause my baby's gone.

Little while later I see a cowboy crying,
’Hey buddy, what can I do?’
He says ‘I lived a good life, had about a thousand women’
I said ‘Why the tears?’ he says ‘Cause none of them was you’

(Chorus)

Free love on the free love freeway,
where the love is free and the freeway is long...
I got some hot love on the hot-love freeway
I ain’t going home cos’ my baby’s gone
