Re: $33: AA What to do on the River
raise more preflop, to like t180. Someone is bound to call you anyway.
Pot the flop, pot the turn and you won't get stuck in this situation. As played, I like a bet of t600 on the river. If villain pushes I puke and call. I know that flush got there but post-flop play at teh 33s is stil pretty bad-- you can't be seeing monsters. |

Re: $33: AA What to do on the River
Uuuh...what are the blinds? I'd definitely bet more on flop and turn though. I'd probably check the river and make a decision if he bets since there's also a missed straight draw you could get money from.

OP: played PF fine, flop bet is OK, but turn bet is bad. On a draw heavy-board, after youre flop bet has been called followed by a relatively safe turn card, I would suggest sticking to a larger bet instead of a pot-building bet. *OP, Bruin prob mis-read and thought it was lev2. |

Re: $33: AA What to do on the River
What do you mean by standard? By the turn there should be a number of factors influencing the size of youre bet, making no certain size standard. I mentioned some of the factors you need to think about in earlier reply.

[ QUOTE ]
I bet 1/2 pot isn't that standard? [/ QUOTE ] the idea is that you dont really want him chasing the many draws on this board, and a bigger bet does one or both of two things: 1) deters him from chasing, and 2) allows you to build the pot so on river cards that you feel safe in doing so, you can stick in a big bet (up to an all in, depending on pot size and situation), and make villain pay with worse hands. the key is trying to discourage action because of how many river cards you are not going to like, but you also make the pot big enough where you dont put yourself in as difficult of a spot to play a big pair like AA by building the pot up more. |
