"The check's in the mail"
ie, I doubt it. You could always e-mail Party and ask them. |

Still sez no-no on Party's website: http://www.partypoker.com/about_us/g...advantage.html [/ QUOTE ] Interesting. I just reread the e-mail and it says that party had not enforced the rules with respect to poker-edge...so use at your own risk kinda thing. I like what they consider datamining as opposed to what we use datamining for. |

I'm surprised more of you aren't using Poker-Edge... it's been my secret weapon. I've been using PE on Party now for the last 3 months with no problems. I'm not running any special configuration either. It seems that Party is either not attempting to detect PE, or not able to detect it.

Got the same mail, but all they do is imply that it's ok with Party eventhough they know it is not.
Here is the relevant part: [ QUOTE ] Question 3. But wait, is Poker-Edge legal? Answer: Where have you been man? Thousands of players currently use Poker-Edge.com to gain an advantage in their game. Poker-edge is legal at most poker rooms that we support. Early last year, Party and skins raised their eye brows as they felt Poker-Edge was giving people an "unfair advantage" and they tried to take action to make sure people don't use it. However, the "customer is always right" and the customer spoke loudly! So Poker-Edge is here to stay! There have been no reports as of recent to anyone having any problems while using the Poker-Edge software on Party and skins. We aren't sure if so many people spoke that Party decided to accommodate the customer's needs, or perhaps the poker rooms have finally caught up with time and realized online poker is continuously evolving and revolutionizing. Either way, it seems like they've relaxed their policy We are very pleased to see them smarten up and accommodate the needs of the customers, it really says a lot about them. [/ QUOTE ] |

well - getting banned is one reason!
You should e-mail party and tell them you are using it and ask if it's OK. |

well - getting banned is one reason! You should e-mail party and tell them you are using it and ask if it's OK. [/ QUOTE ] I am not using this program, but I did forward a copy of poker-edge's email to both party and pokerstars, asking them directly if it is now ok to use this program as poker-edge is inferring. (Even though it is clearly against both of their terms of service) To no one's surprise party has still not even responded back with even a courtesy email. PokerStars responded promptly with this reply: Thank you for writing us and allowing us to be of assistance. After a review of this software, we find that we cannot permit its use on PokerStars. Key feature of this software cause it to be in violation of section 3.4 of our terms of service: http://www.pokerstars.com/tos.html 3.4 EXTERNAL PLAYER ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS (EPA). PokerStars prohibits External player assistance programs ("EPA Programs") which are designed to provide an "Unfair Advantage" to players. PokerStars defines External to mean computer software (other than the PokerStars game client provided by PokerStars), and non-software-based databases or profiles (e.g. web sites and subscription services). PokerStars defines an "Unfair Advantage" as a User accessing or compiling information on other players beyond that which the User has personally observed through the User's own game play. This software aggregates hand histories or player profiles from several sources beyond your own play, and therefore it cannot be permitted. Thank you for your questions regarding this third party application and our terms of service. I hope I've answered your questions fully. Please let me know if you have any additional concerns or questions Which I have now responded back with this question: How does PokerStars distinguish this program differently from applications like Poker Ace and Gametime plus that are used in connection with PokerTracker? It is also common knowledge that players share databases and datamine to try and accomplish what Poker-edge does, basically having stats on opponents that they have never personally played a hand against. I got another very quick response from Stars indicating they have sent my question on to the appropriate department. I will post their answer if there is interest. |
