Default Baghdad ER

Is anyone else watching this show? This is probably the most depressing thing I've ever watched on TV.

something tells me Bush's approval rating might drop a bit more.

Just got a call from my mom earlier asking if I would email our family friend to cheer him up.
He got hit by a roadside bomb...completly smooshed his lower jaw and took off half his face--the army is stalling on his reconstructive surgeries.
They just told him he'll need to stay in another 2 years in order to get the surgeries he needs.

I turned it on but really couldn't watch it all. I'm still of the opinion that the invasion of Iraq was justified, but Christ what a total clusterfuck it has been.

it was just a bad idea to begin with.
not sure how it was "justified"
but in "theory" the idea behind invading Iraq and rebuilding it made some sense....but communism made some sense in "theory" too.

He was injured over a year ago...i think he has already had like 10-12 surgeries...everytime he has to fly to wash from az...and then is stuck there.

He got seriously f'd up. I think only him and another survived in the humvee they were driving..everyone else died.

Spend 6 months there escorting Army engineers throughout the city. Made a few trips to the ER over there and I honestly don't understand how any personnel there doesn't end up killing themselves. Much respect to those guys who work around the clock fixing everyone else up, putting up with all the screaming and crying etc. (Respect to anyone who is out there)Probably the worst scene i've seen after 8yrs military and 4yrs private contracting. I know one thing for sure, I ain't ever going back to baghdad...in 6 month survived 18 attacks on my convoys including 3 IEDs. I'm sticking to Afghanistan for a while...
