Reno El Dorado - mid-week
I'm gonna be staying the night at the El Dorado next Wednesday (24th) to play some poker with my dad. I know the El Dorado is supposed to have a good room. I was just curious on how it is on Wednesday nights. I saw they have a tourney, anyone have experience with it? Also, how soft will the cash games be in the middle of the week? I don't really have a preference between limit or no limit, basically whatever is the juicier game.
I figure I'll play the tournament and then cash games and just stay up pretty much all night, or until things die down. If the tourney isn't too good, should I just play at Circus Circus instead? I know the Peppermill is supposed to be good, but since I'm staying at the El Dorado, I figure it'd be easier to jsut play there or at CC. Thanks for any advice. PS: I'm basically a low limit player because of basically no bank roll. 3-6 or 4-8 limit, and preferably 1-2 no limit, but a little higher is doable. Anyoen know what's spread at ED and CC? |

I'm basically a low limit player because of basically no bank roll. [/ QUOTE ] It feels good to hear that I am not the only one in that boat. My work schedule changed about 6 months ago and I started working on the weekends and having 3 weekdays off. I noticed in my local casino, the weekday crowd was mainly the tight regulars. Not nearly as many fishy donators as I was used to. |

Anyone have any experience with El Dorado mid-week? |

Re: Reno El Dorado - mid-week
I played there midweek last year. There was a mix of locals and tourists. I played for about 12 hours straight - I think it was either 2/4 or 3/6 limit w/kill. I bought in for $100 and cashed out with $600. I thought it was juicy. Most of the players were drunk - including myself. But I had a great time.
I also played at the Peppermill, but I couldn't give you any REAL info about that because it was during a tournament week and there were way more players there than normal and it was held in banquet room instead of the poker room. |

Re: Reno El Dorado - mid-week
i'm also curious what others have to say about the best prospects for low limit players in reno. i will be working in reno this summer, and would like to find a few good live games or maybe some tournaments to play. i have a small roll, just a couple of thousand. let me know how the el dorado treats you, as i am in a very similar situation as you poker-wise.
