Default rake drop

Just want some clarification, over a discussion I can't seem to win.
Ignoring differences in level of play which game would be easier to beat the cryptologic £5-10 game with a max rake of £3 ($5.6) or the $10-20 with a max rake of $3.

You phrased this wrong. For example :

If party poker raked $5 from every pot, then clearly this would make the game harder to beat. This is an increase in rake. When I play in GBP (lbs.) the poker room still rakes 3 units (lbs in this case). This is not an "increase" in rake. The 3 lbs are worth about $5, but the pot is also bigger if you convert it.

The rake is the same because they are raking 3 units or 5%. It doesnt matter that the 3 lbs are worth $5.

If the house doesnt rake each pot then that game is easier to beat, because of a decrease in rake.

What if I started a limit holdem game where i converted your $'s... for every $ I gave you 100 chips. But I would rake 3 chips or 5% as always from each pot. Then at the end of your session you converted your stack back into $'s. That 3 unit rake seems like a lot because it's equal to $300, but the pots are worth much more also, so the game is not harder to beat.

As long as they are only raking 3 units and 5% then it is not an increase in rake.

It doesn't matter, until the rake gets capped. Then they are indeed raking more.

If I could play 200 cent/400 cent with a 3 unit rake (3 cents), I would absolutely play that game over regular 2/4. Even if the 200/400 cent game had a 20% rake, the 3cent cap makes the rake significantly less.

This is an extreme example, but I think the Op question is quite intuitive. Hopefully nobody votes for 5/10 pounds.

Your example is flawed. You are taking $ and breaking them down into pennies. That is not the same as taking $ and "converting" them into lbs. In your example the poker room would still rake 5% in dollars. So you are not at an advantage. When I say 3 units, I am reffering to 3 lbs or dollars in whole. Sometimes they rake quaters, so they could rake 50 cents for example.

In your game they would rake the same amount as in a regular 2-4 game...5% or $3.

I can't even parse this.. i don't understand how they're "raking more" after they stop raking?

That's mean, but still funny... 5-10 pound game w/ 5.6 pound rake is better, right?
