Since I don't know anything about our Villain I'll think of him as a player who has read a 2+2 book somewhere along the line.
He might cold call a raise with either AQs or KQs or maybe even AJs. Given his reraise on the Flop I put him on KQs. |

Well if you want my opinion that no one will agree with??
I b/c or maybe even c/c the flop. This relates to my CC theory of Ks&Qs but then whatever... The turn is another c/c. and the rver a bet. JT |

I don't agree because you got villian and hero's position reversed. But I think I advocate the complementary line: calling villian's flop and turn leads. I don't advocate raising the turn because villian often has two pair here. If I raise the turn while ahead, villian calls and check calls or check folds the river; if I'm behind, I get raised and lose more chips. If I call the turn villian bet(-calls) with a wider range, and I can raise if I hit.
THis means that on the turn I am putting villian on, in rough order: 1) KQ, AK, AQ, JT 2) 55, KJ, QJ, K5, Kx 3) AA, QQ, KK, crap |

I might just call the flop lead. If I do that, I probably pop the turn, although I don't know if thats optimal. Spiking your 4 outer is standard.

[ QUOTE ] I was actually villian in this hand and not hero. [/ QUOTE ] Why did you post it then? [/ QUOTE ]I wanted to see if raising in Heros position with AJs was standard or foolish given the board. I have been noticing lately that players with very tight stats have been raising, 3-betting, and capping me with just a gut shot, or sometimes completely nothing. So I posted a hand with villian and hero reversed to see if people liked/disliked my opponents line. The opponent's states were solid, if people thought he was crazy, then I must be doing something to have a bad table image. If people (read "more experienced players") thought the line was good, then I really need to change my game. |

1. Hero should probably not raise the flop with AJ here. Villain's bet on a scary board into an early position open-raiser will be one looking to three-bet relatively often. It might be some kind of "find at where I'm at and fold to further aggression" but probably not, as hero likely hit that board and villain doesn't seem to care.
2. It doesn't really matter what op/Villain has here, since he doesn't have enough chips. Don't leave yourself so short on chips. As it stands, it's not easy to put you on anything without big street action. KQs seems like a reasonable hand. If it's something like KJs or JTs, you are probably overplaying your hand. |
