Critique this hand please... AA in the money with 2nd biggest stack
This was a 10+1 NL HE tourney with about 900 paricipants. There were about 95-100 players left at this point. My stack was about twice the average stack size, if I recall correctly.
The main villian (big stack) was a fairly new arrival to the table. I don't think he had much info on me. The other players probably thought of me as a bit of a bully. That may be because I'm still feeling disappointed at the result of this tournament that I played fairly well otherwise -- I don't recall any glaring mistakes I made in other hands. Results will follow. |

Re: Critique this hand please... AA in the money with 2nd biggest stac
I'll critique the whole hand real quick.
#1. The initial re-raise is too small. It should be like..5600 probably. #2. The call of the push is completely atrocious. This is as easy of a push as it gets. #3. The call of the 211 bet, WTF is that? Why? The pot has 20K in it!!! #4. The call of the re-raise to 1600 is horrible as well. This should be a push. Or a fold. It shouldn't really matter, you shouldn't be making decisions here. #5. The call of the 1600 bet is pretty bad. #6. The call of the river is pretty bad. I don't understand your thinking on a single street in the hand. |

Okay, so pushing post-flop in your opinion is best.
Is folding less bad than calling? What range of hands do you put MP1 on at this point? |

Re: Critique this hand please... AA in the money with 2nd biggest stac
you cant controll what the flop is going to be... you have to make the right decision(which would be to push after villians reraise), and let the odds work theirselves. Its poker, cant make everything go in your favor no matter how hard you try.

Re: Critique this hand please... AA in the money with 2nd biggest stac
At which point do I push? The first raise looks fine preflop. The subsequent call may seem wrong but the players in the tourney generally seemed weak enough that I might be able to profit more by allowing them to make mistakes postflop.
On the flop, why not call the teeny raise and then hope the villian is content to check down. The villians raise confused me -- was he building a the pot for a monster hand? I didn't think he'd be dumb enough to bluff here. So are you saying reraise allin after his smallish reraise? |

You can't be serious. After MP1 and MP2 both call the allin, SHOVE. It is NOT close. The pot is large, and they have shown they like their hand, let them get it allin now or fold, rather than see the flop and only keep going if they outflop you.
