Party makes my computer sooooo slow!
Hi
I recently bought a new computer, with the following setup: Intel P4 650 3,4 ghz 1 gig DDR2 RAM Radeon X1300 video card I run WinXP btw. Now to the problem: When I play poker I mostly play 10 tables on my two monitors. I have several programs running simoultaneously: Poker Tracker (Auto importing every 3 minutes, edit: I use Access database) Poker Ace Hud Autoresizer Adde's NL Autoreload AHK script Allsnap Skype Sometimes everything runs smoothly to start with, but after a while the tables open up slower and my mouse cursor responds more slowly than usual. Other times this happens right at the moment when I start playing. My CPU usage is between 55-80% when this happens, this can't be normal? I've read some posts that say this problem disappears when shutting down and reopening the PP client, but for me this does not work, I still have the slowness of my mouse etc. Please guys help me, this is extremely annoying. Give me som advice of what to do (buy more RAM or whatever). Thanks |

Autoresizer [/ QUOTE ] I have a similar setup and just upgraded to 2G RAM like 15 minutes ago. I'll let you know if it helps. |

Re: Party makes my computer sooooo slow!
I've noticed that when PT auto imports, it hogs a lot of processor. Don't know what that means though or what to do about it....

Re: Party makes my computer sooooo slow!
It may help setting your import to every minute in pokertracker. The effect would be that you would have shorter (1/3 of the hands being imported), but more frequent (every minute) processor load. This may just help distribute the overall processor load.

Thanks for the advice, but that is what my setting is, and I'm only two tabling. It hasn't happened today though...?

Re: Party makes my computer sooooo slow!
It seems to actually make sense to import less often and set the time interval to be greater so that your computer is not spending that much time importing. You might also consider importing when you completed playing and not import while you are playing. Also, 10 tables is a lot of processor usage and memory switching going on.
You might also have a ton of other drivers loaded that oyu may not know about. run the program mscong at the run prompt and see what programs are checked to run at startup. You may have so much stuff that is runnning when you start your computer that you may not know about. |

Re: Party makes my computer sooooo slow!
Happens to me too, occasionally. Not that often nowadays though.
Do you use Access or Postgres (SQL) in PT? Sometimes Postgres processes (there are a couple of them) seem to go wild on my computer. Even after I have closed PT they keep on processing for a long while. Adde |
