On the most recent VIP promotion, i had to get about 9000 points to get about $400 bucks...Since I am gold now, that works out to about 4 and a half cents per point, but my last bonus was about 11 cents per point after you figured in the bonus at the end, when i was at Blue.
what I am asking is this: was there a dramatic change for those of you who were already gold? It seems that i am not really getting anything extra being gold, since they "redeem" all the gold points i get for the VIP bonus, and made the bonus cost cost over double the previous one! is this just another "thanks for nothing" party poker for making me a gold member but giving nothing extra? In fact, I was doing better when i was at Blue! don't get me wrong, i realize the VIP is much more valuable than the party points, but where is the value of being gold? |

sorry I can't answer your question and I don't mean to hijack but how do I get into the VIP club? Do they email me with an offer?
I just started playing again and payed just under $4k in rake last month, I e-mailed them inquiring about the VIP club but they didn't respond. Do I have to keep this up for a few more months before I get an offer? |

if you are paying that much in rake you should get bumped to VIP next time they let new people in. Who knows when that will be though.
I would try emailing them again, though generally you don't need to in order to get in. |

It really is a pathetic promotion.
Im on gold, yet I have to play 21000 hands to get my $260 bonus. Havent even bothered trying for it. I normally 4 table so thats 5 hours a day every day. As for doubling my 'bonus'..... |

I am playing 11k points for $560 (I think it comes to about 9500 hands) and that's not even a great deal of $/point judging from the previous threads on this. |

I'm going to take a longshot guess and guess that this promotion was mainly to get college kids to stop studying for finals and get them to play poker.
s it possible that if they see that you are above college age that they give you a garbage bonus? If its not that they probably just pick number out of a hat. |

yeah, it's pretty unfortunate that if you get moved up to silver or gold, they just increase your point targets accordingly and keep the bonus amount the same. i guess the only benefit is you'll accumulate points faster for the store (the points they don't redeem for VIP, anyway).

Mine was 4400 for 390, I'm silver. My deal sounds better than most everyone else's but I still gave up on it. I'm sick of being pushed to play longer than I like or on more tables than I like.

[/ QUOTE ] It is hard to compare different offers, without knowing what games people are playing. A better way to compare would be % of rake paid. |
