I don't see much value to a bet. Check, decide whether or not to call an allin.

checking would be worst option. You've been floating the whole hand and now you hit your hand and u want to check it? Bet 300 on river and call all-in

There is a decent argument to be made on this dry board that IF you are planning to check and always call, pushing is better than check-calling.

I think a check is really not that bad. By checking he gives his opponent a chance to bluff at the pot (if he decided to go to the felt with it anyways). Although an AQ might just check behind the river. Either way could be argued really. AQ will probably call a river (value) bet too.

Is it because a dry board means villain is likely calling down with a made hand like a Q, and inducing a bluff loses value as his chances of having a made hand go up and his chances of having a missed draw go down? Also, If pushing is better than check/calling, how good is a 1/2 pot bet? |
