Default PP50NL 6M, JJ: God I suck at this game

Villain was 51/23/4 over 53 hands. Had gone on a run with some good cards, which I think I mistook for LAG.

Preflop's OK, right? Flop c-bet, yes?

Is there any other part of it that doesn't just stink up the room? Note on the turn I remembered to min-raise. I think I went on villain-specific tilt. Anyone else do this from time to time?

ChipStorm,
How would you have played this hand in full ring?

I would have folded to his flop raise! What do you think I am, a donkey?!?

So why can't I just do the same at 6max? Bah!

This is the opposite of a bad-beat post. It's an "I got my money in with the worst of it, I was SURE I did. Would someone please come to my house and kick me in the balls?" post.

Edit: Sorry all, I probably should have marked this LC. There may be a couple of lines here, but there's a very obvious default play; I just didn't make it.

Yeah, on a sane day I easily fold on the flop and don't think twice about it.

The only other line I was thinking about was call flop, push turn. Decent for occasional use?

I have been at the same table as you a few times when I used to play FR and I never saw you donk like this. This is the type of [censored] that cost me 6 buyins when I moved to 6max. I went to far with marginal hands, never believed I was beat though it was painfully obvious that I was, ie, I played like a donk. What worked for me was just playing my same nitty FR game at 6max until I slowly got more comfortable with marginal situations.

Thanks AZ, this is exactly how I see it. I just need to get control and play that game again. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's gone through this kind of transformation trying to adapt to shorthanded play. Much appreciated.

I'm mixed on this. About 60% of the time I check behind on the flop and then battle it out on the turn.

The rest of the time I fire a bet out right away, but would insta-muck to the minraise. If you call the raise, what's the plan? A ton of cards kill you (K,A), (8,3 for straight draw). Plus, he's shown aggression with the minraise, and you probably won't get a cheap showdown. With few draws on the board, he probably has a King with a decent kicker or 2-pair.

This thread feels a lot like the KK on an Ace board thread I've read before.

(Though admittedly, people are a lot more likely to hold Ax than Jx, and the Jack is more vulnerable than KK).

fold the flop unless you have a specific read, the turn, as you know, is really ugly.
