Default Stuck in LA tonight - where to play?

Courtesy of the airlines, I am spending the night in LA.

What's the best way to get to Commerce for LAX? I'm looking to play mid-stakes limit (20/40 to 40/80 or so), though I might give some NL a shot. Are there better/closer alternatives to Commerce that I should consider?

Hollywood Park is located a few miles from LAX. About more than $50 of taxi fare from LAX to Commerce.

Another thing if you want to play good action and have a place to stay is Crystal Park. You can catch it via the metro rail for about $6 and then its a short walk (about 2 blocks) to the casino. No only that but there is a hotel there where you can stay for $79. If you get the players card which is free and play for a hr the rate goes to $49. Three hrs drop to $29 and seven hours the room is free.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the stakes on the limit games arent as high as you like (they only spread 3-6 and sometimes 4-8 but there is lively blue and yellow chip NL game).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the airline is at fault, Analyst is getting the room for free, yes?

Are you really recommending that some guy from out of town takes the LA subway to COMPTON (presumably at night)? Then he is to go play poker at CRYSTAL PARK? He's a good player and will likely WIN MONEY, at which time he'll have to WALK TWO BLOCKS THROUGH COMPTON AT NIGHT WITH A POCKETFUL OF CASH???

Have you no love for this man?

It wouldn't be so bad if he got a free ride from the airport (and maybe back); my guess is the casino might go for it especially if they combine his ride with a bus-load of Chinese tourists (CP does big business on tours) .

And if he had a car he wouldn't have to walk through the Compton of legend; the club itself is in an industrial area without too many people hanging around on the street corner.

That said I almost sh_t my pants a few weeks back when the lights in the parking lot went out for a minute while walking from my car to the back door for a late night donkament.

PS Sucker, see my response just above to ascertain my motivation for even posting this.

yeh that kind of sucked. I worked that night. THe lights went out just before 3am (the start of my shift) and came on around 7am. Then went out again about 15 minutes later not to come on till almost 10 and stayed on for the rest of the day.

Rick,

There might be some sort of prop bet to be had here involving this subway ride, hardcore CP gambling action, late-night urban stroll. That's just too hardcore, man. Then again, it may still be safer than the far reaches of the HPC parking lot - or even the Valet there.
