This is only "OH WOW" if you've never driven in california. I can totally see something like this happening with a foggy highway and everyone going 85mph riding each others bumpers.

Very true, I drove through a stretch of 101 north of SF once when it was very foggy. There was a 30-40 car pileup with I think 8 or so fatalities about 20 minutes after I drove through there.

I've lived in Northern CA almost all my life and it's still "OH WOW."

That's the worst I've ever heard of.
