Re: KK early in tournament
I like a push preflop here.
Fold flop 1, and beat him into the pot on flop 2. |

Re: KK early in tournament
My main point is that there is not much point in raising anything less than a push.
As for the hypotheticals, definitely call an open push with an overpair to the board. On an AQx flop, it depends on the buyin and site but one of my biggest $ leaks is just thinking "I really can't be be bothered with this" and calling to see villain table A2s. |

Shove. This is online, right? He'll probably call with 6-3o.

Re: KK early in tournament
push. anyone who raises 12.5x the BB to 250 is probably not going to fold to any preflop RR.
i expect to lose to aces here a significant amount of the time, but not nearly enough for me to get away from KK. |

Re: KK early in tournament
just because you think it's stupid to raise AA this big here doesn't mean that this is AA an insignificant amount of the time. what's more stupid, raising to 12.5x with AA or raising to 12.5x with 77?
i can guarantee you that it is AA here much, much more often than when it is a 4x raise. the fact that everyone automatically lables the raiser a moron and assumes he's FOS is exactly why making this play with AA is not as bad as you think. |
