360 Video Sharing
So I finally fixed my network problems with the 360 connecting to my PC (enabled Filter Multicast in router settings ... who knew?). However, now I am running into the problem of getting my videos to stream to my xbox. I know I can only watch wmv files, and obviously I could convert all of my files to wmv format but that might take a while. Any other easy way to do this?
Thanks |

Re: 360 Video Sharing
I haven't tried this yet myself, so can't comment on how well it works, but a friend recommended this "streaming transcoder":

Re: 360 Video Sharing
Glad to hear you got the network issue resolved. It's ALWAYS something so simple... and obscure.
I've also heard good things about transcode 360, but haven't used it myself. There are a ton of hits on google for: xbox 360 stream divx. |

Re: 360 Video Sharing
Trying to use TVersity but so far not working ... does it have to be wmv format? Anybody with experience in this?

Re: 360 Video Sharing
Here's a good website with a TVersity step-by-step manual:
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/10...ion/index.html I looked into this a year or so ago (using another program, not TVersity), and I seem to remember something about needing Windows Media Centre installed on your PC to play files other than WMV. TVersity will work with XP or 2000... ps: because the program is converting the video on the fly, you will need a decent PC... and a crappy wireless signal might give you problems if the video is a high-quality one. |

Re: 360 Video Sharing
I found a program pretty quickly on google that allowed me to stream movies from my iMac. Not the ones in iTunes, probably because I didn't tweak something somewhere, but from a Movies folder that I can rip stuff to.
