Two bluff lines (NL200)
In this hand the villain is crackleback. He's not exactly good, but he plays back more than most bad players without being a complete fish. He's definitely spewy though, but can lay down marginal hands. He seems to love to float. I only have 400 hands on him, but I have him at 33.4/9.8/1.54 with a fold to cbet of only 58%. Is this better than firing like $42 on the turn? Is c/f just the best play here all the time?

I'll take my chances playing this in position vs. an unknown who opens for 3x in MP3 although I'm sure some of you will hate preflop. I call the flop because I likely have the best hand and there is no sense of raising since he won't call with anything I beat. On the turn I figure him for at least the same hand as me, but probably an overpair. I figure that I can rep a set since I wouldn't raise it on this dry of a flop very often. The small raise is intended to get called. I did this because it reps a big hand while enticing him to call on the turn. It also gets me more money when it works than just straight shoving the turn or raising to like $120 and having him be committed. It also sets up a shove for about 90% pot on the river which will look really strong. I planned on shoving all rivers pretty much (maybe not K or Q). Thoughts? Is it better to just call turn and then fold river UI or check behind? Should I just fold the turn? Re: Two bluff lines (NL200)
Hand 2 - I think you're giving an 'unknown' player too much credit for being able to think and lay down an overpair
Hand 1 - I like this against the described player |

Re: Two bluff lines (NL200)
So, I thought I was turning hand 2 into a bluff because I doubted that he would double barrel worse, but I guess I'm retarded. So lets change hand 2. Do I vbet the river now or check behind?

Re: Two bluff lines (NL200)
I guess I'm a pussy and check behind. Though I doubt it he could have like QQ and just got scared by your call, c/r line but still willing to call you down. But this could very well be a leak...

Re: Two bluff lines (NL200)
I don't like hand 1 cause I don't know what you're trying to rep here. With what legitimate hand would you take such a line here? I'd think bet flop, c/r is not a line you take too often, right? Plus I think 77 or KQ might be in his range and I'm not sure if he can lay down those...
2nd looks ok for me, though I'm not sure it's a bluff, he could easily have AQ AK stuff. I would ve raised on the flop though... |
