Sites requiring photo ID, dob copies to let you cashout :|
So im trying to cashout from a prima site and they email me telling me I need to provide them with official photo ID, and date of birth blah copies for them to withdraw my money. FTP is doing the same thing when trying to get a cheque here. What is with this? Seems like these sites are getting too much information on us, I mean you can do anything with government issued ID's. I know party makes you do this if your withdrawing more than $10k in a month, but thats ok. But withdrawing a couple hundred from prima/FTP and you need to provide govt ID? Why? How does this protect from fraud. They make it this difficult to cashout yet so much easier to deposit.

Let me guess... you don't have gov't ID showing you're the proper age for playing on their site?

no, I am of age and have govt IDs. I am just concerned with what they do with these documents. And in 5-10 years when who knows what the fate of online poker is, what will they do with these documents. Its a legitimate concern, imo.

There's not TOO much they can do with a scan of your government ID, especially if you black out the license number. Your name, address & DOB should be pretty easy for most people to find with a bit of work.
They are really just doing it to establish your legal age, and verify that they're sending the check to the right place. A lot of casinos do this to make you reverse your withdrawal and GAMBOOL!!! |

Re: Sites requiring photo ID, dob copies to let you cashout :|
I agree I think it is stupid!
Fulltilt originially told me months ago that one of the reasons they needed all of this identifying information was to make sure my address was correct when they sent the check. Duh. I received no response when I said that the address I provided their software at account registration was accurate and to go ahead and mail me the check. I ended up using Epass otherwise I would not be playing at Fulltilt. Yes I am over 18. Thought it a little much when they wanted drivers license, birth certificate or passporte, utility bills, bank account statements, last girlfriends name and address, religion, political affiliation. |
