$5+0.50 Resteal from BB - too risky?
I don't think he's calling much here at the $5s. Am I right?
PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com UTG (t2035) CO (t2635) Button (t2750) SB (t4240) Hero (t1840) Preflop: Hero is in BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB raises to t450, Hero raises to t1840 (All-in) |

Play here is fine imo, though check with sngwiz. Any read on sb? since i think you might get called here alot from weak aces and then its a toss up. But 44+ K7s+ calling range here from sb.

I think you will get called here a lot. Use SNGWIZ and play around with some ranges to figure this one out.

[/ QUOTE ] Well, I'm thinking that there's more information to be had from a broader experience of what "typical players at the $5s" will do than based on what a pretty small sample of observations regarding this particular player. |

Re: $5+0.50 Resteal from BB - too risky?
You're getting called here by a pretty huge range...people at the 5's have a hard time folding after a raise...especially if they are the big stack, and even moreso if you are the shortstack.
I prefer to make this move when they limp at these stakes...purely because I hate my all-ins getting called. |

This is getting called way too often in a $5, especially by a deep stack.

Re: $5+0.50 Resteal from BB - too risky?
Let's say Small blind will call your push with 20% of his hands (which is 33+, A4+, A2s+, KQ+, KJs+, KTs+). I did some ICM calculations in SNGWizard.
The graph shows that SB should be raising over 50% of his hands (calling only 20%) to make your resteal +ev. If you think SB is raising that light you might have a good resteal. However, I think SB is calling much wider than 20% which is not good for you. For example, when calling 30% SB should raise over 60% of his hands. I think you should fold this. The only situation this might be +ev is if you've seen SB raising a lot and are pretty sure he's calling very tight. |
