Re: 100NL AK preflop
Call re-ev after flop.Your not folding and although i hate to play this out of position, vs. an unknown im not ready to stack off yet.

Re: 100NL AK preflop
If we've just sat down this hand will establish a table image. Do we want to be more passive, since opponent is unknown, or aggressive to show we cant be pushed around?
I dont like playing AK OOP, if we miss probably gonna have to check/fold. When i sit down i like to get involved immeditately and create a loose, active image,so i can get some bigger payoff later. generally, i'd call and see a flop, but in this situation and OOP,i like a RR. dont fold |

Re: 100NL AK preflop
I always call this. If you 4-bet, you should be willing to call is push.
Your preflop raise is way too small. When you're out of position with a hand like this, you never want more than one villain to see the flop. Getting the pot without a flop is ok too. As there are two limpers, you should raise to $6 or even $7 as you're OOP. If he then makes a pot sized threebet, you should call it as adviced in the first reply and then re-evaluate the flop. Depending on the flop, without two diamonds or an ace, you should be very careful. I play mostly full ring, is this line and thought process too weak for 6-max? |

Re: 100NL AK preflop
Raise to 6 or 7, as cobalt said, and then I would call a reraise. But now I actually like a 4-bet, since your hand really looks like how a fish would play AA/KK.

Re: 100NL AK preflop
I think all of you are overestimating the value of a call here. You have shown strength by raising 2 limpers OOP and an unknown makes a pretty big reraise.
Whats' your plan when you call and miss? You propably just fold because it's against an unknown. And how much money do you think you will make when you flop TPTK one third of the time and are ahead. Against a very bad player I might call or against a ligth 3-better I propably 4-bet. With no read on villain I don't think folding is that bad. |

Re: 100NL AK preflop
You make a good point, but if you weigh in the fact that we made a quite small raise?

Re: 100NL AK preflop
There was actually a great post here a few days back by a noob about the value of 4 betting AK.It actually made me wonder if i play AK too soft in certain situations esp out of position like here.Mehhh, still on the fence usually in these situations vs. unknown.
