Default Jason Giambi = will he or not

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

First the "apology", then chiding MLB for letting the steroids scandal happen. Now he will probably be suspended if he doesnt co-operate with the steroid investigation.

I personally hope he talks and blows this wide open. It's the only way the sport will get cleaned up without government interference. He would be the first and only player, active or retired, to co-operate.

If the gov't has to take over it will damage the sport for years to come. The end result may be a positive thing but I personally dont want to have to read about this crap for the next 5 years while wondering if who cheated and who didnt.

And the MLB can??? I dont think so with the way they've been burying thier heads in the sand on the roid issue. If the dont the gov't will get involved, more than they have already. Not saying I want it to happen, but it will happen. That's not a good thing.

I believe Giambi was involved with Bonds and his buddies at Balco; if Giambi talks, one imagines it will be bad for Bonds.

Not only Bonds but all of baseball, even the ones who never did roids. *edit to add*> It's the only hope MLB has to salvage it's reputation, by self policing the problem.

But this controversy does give me a better appreciation of the pre-roid era players. Especially the marginal Hall of Famer candidates and record holders.

im pretty sure it's a bluff

Selig has to know he'll never win an arbitration challenge from the player's union
