Croquet Trip Report
Today through this weekend, all the prefrosh who got in are visiting my school. While the administration wants to project an image of us as diverse and all-inclusive, those of us already here know that its all upper-class white and preppy. So, we decided that the best course of action to warn all the youngins would be to show off our preppiness by dressing obnoxiously and playing coquet on the lawn nearest where they checked in.
To round out the awesomeness, there were also cigars to be had. To make it obvious, I'm the obnoxious looking fat guy in the pink shirt. Fun and intellectual conversation (not really, but we look serious) were had by all And an awesome time was had, even though we looked completely ridiculous to onlookers. Unfortunately, perhaps due to the same thing happening last year, prefrosh check-in was moved to the other side of one of the background buildings above. However, I think we still made an impact. On the other hand, a few students who take themselves way too seriously decided that throwing water balloons at us would be fun. This really put a damper on the mood, but alas, I have no pics to share. In the end, the good guys came out on top: campus police stopped the stocking-masked kids running away and had us give a statement to the dean about the 'attack'. Good times abound in the newly awesome northeast weather. I hope you all take as much advantage as we did today. edit to add: Note also that I had never played before. Croquet is awesome; kind of like golf, but more strategic, less skillful, shorter timewise, more social, and just generally awesome. |

Re: Croquet Trip Report
My bro and I used to have fierce home croquet matches on our front lawn when we were younger.
I wish I had the presence of mind to wear a popped collar, plaid shorts and aviators back when I was 11. |

Re: Croquet Trip Report
Two critiques:
1. You should be wearing boating shoes instead of flip-flops. 2. Brown people? |

Ed,
I love it. As someone who spent a lot of time in Princeton when I was growing up, you guys are an amazing parody of typical Princetonians. It's still weird for me to drive through town, see you dorks walking around, and realize that I'm older than you now As someone who has done some partying at Princeton, I know what happens to those outfits when the sun goes down, baby! -James |

Those Princeton grad school chicks are awesome because now that they are finally old enough to drink 'legally' they go all out. It's like freshman year all over again. -James |
