25NL: New to 6-handed. Help me thru a *boring* hand...
Still the first orbit at a new table, so essentially, no reads. Making the transition from FR to SH and I'm still very much learning how to decide between pushing hard and pot control. Help me learn

With your line Id check and call a reasonable bet. I would have bet out on the turn though.

Trust me, I wanted to bet, but thought about pot control w/o reads. Plus, if you get raised on the turn, then what?

Bet the turn, c/c the river. With the way you played it, I suppose call the turn, check the river, call a reasonable bet.

As you played it you should have seen his small bet as weak on that board (possibly bet trying to give himself odds to draw). Don't mind so much if the pot gets big for a pair compared to FR because pairs hold more value 6max i think in theory, so you can play those hands stronger than you would at FR. At 6max though you need to be careful about the bigger hands you play because villains can have alot of different holdings than they normally would FR, once the pot does get fat. |

Re: 25NL: New to 6-handed. Help me thru a *boring* hand...
It is often way way toooo weak to not bet out because you are afraid of getting raised, you will crushed if this is the attitude you take. You have to charge flush draws here and lead the turn, if you get raised make a note of it and think a little harder the second time this person does it to you.

check raising the turn would have been good here, but usually come out and bet (he's not always betting 1 dolla).
