If you really want to study the subject, the book "Game Theory"by Drew Fudenberg and Jean Tirole is an excellent choice.
However, if you are mainly interested in game theoretical applications in poker games, I would advise to buy the book "The Mathematics of Poker" by Bll Chen and Jerrod Ankenman. Johannes |

If you want a "fun", very readable book, try Prisoner's Dilemna by William Poundstone. It is half (light) game theory and half biography of Von Neumann. It is a pleasant read, and you will accidentally learn something along the way. It isn't going to help your poker game much, but that isn't all there is to life.

Start with Super System by Doyle.
That will be a give you a good foundation and general attitude towards the game. You have to be willing to gamble and have a good size bankroll. In a nutshell, that's what his 100-page book is about. |

Reading “Theory of Poker” will give you a little taste of it and help get you up to speed with the Poker Theory forum, and besides it’s a great book. Super System does not discuss GT as mentioned, and my copy is a lot bigger than 100 pages. For future reference, it's been read by pretty much everyone here. |
