Default Moving up from 25 to 50 nl, Advice

Hey everyone, in this thread 12 TablingI asked if you can 12 table on stars, but it worked into within the next couple of days if i stay on pace, I am going to be rolled for 50 NL. (I am at 800). Now i have taken a couple shots at 50 NL before, with basically no success. (Albeit an incredibly small sample size and i lost to a set over set and all in with aces pf).

So i would like to ask the forum, what ptbb/100 do you think i could achieve if i am running at about 7 ptbb at 25 nl? And also, what did people find important to be able to make a successful move up? Thanks.

Well, I'm sure you can make at least 3.5PTBB/100, so moving up is at least a wash relative to 7PTBB/100 at the lower level.

So, take a shot as soon as you have the BR.

If you are 12-tabling 25NL with an $800 bankroll, I would have 1-3 of my tables being 50NL. This way, you can gradually move up in stakes (slowly add more tables until you are comfortable playing all 50NL).

I think this method is better than swtiching from 25NL to 50NL on all 12 tables at the same time once you hit a certain bankroll amount.

well there is more to it than that

increased vpp/rb at the higher level, also its likely better for longterm improvement to play at the higher level

downsides being a 3.5ptbb winner will have more swings than a 7ptbb winner, both in $ and raw buyins

He is saying he's lost two big pots at 50NL.

1) Set over set

2) AI pf with AA against another hand that sucked out

OP, this kinda stuff happens at every level - if you haven't lost any pots like this at 25NL, then maybe you haven't been playing very long?

I think he's just saying that when he took a shot at 50NL he had a few big hands early go against him that caused him to move back down to 25NL. This happened to me a couple of years ago when I was trying to move up to 2/4 LHE. Everytime I'd move up, I'd get a bad run of cards and move back down almost immediately. In the end, it took 4 times taking shots at 2/4 to actually stay there.

Oh I see. I read that he lost with AA AIPF to a set over set.

Reading comprehension, FTL!

I played vs you on nl50, I really think you can burn the limit. Is it going well?
I saw that players at nl50 doesn't min-raise as much as nl25..except that they are all mediocre except rounders, some are kinda tough.
