Default PSP or Nintendo DS?

Hi-

I think its about time I bought a portable gaming system. Which one is better between the DS and PSP? Also, which games would you recommend for the system that you prefer?

Thanks! I hope to buy one tomorrow so I can play on the bus ride to Foxwoods.

The DS is the better choice hands down. It's cheaper, has a lot more games, and is backward compatible all the way to original gameboy games. Recommended games: mario kart, new super mario bros, meteos (puzzle game), trauma center, warioware (although I actually perfer warioware twisted - for the GBA - than warioware touched, but of course twisted will play on a DS).

I'm sure others can recommend more games.

Are you sure it's compatible with original Gameboy games? I know that GBA is of course, but I thought I'd heard that SP and DS are not...the cartridges don't fit.

Horn,

When my place got messed up I bought a DS to pass the time. It def gets my seal of approval. Be sure to pick up Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Trauma Center if you do grab a DS.

Hmm... I assumed that because it fit GBA games, and the GBA was backwards compatible that it had to be. Looks like I spoke too soon, though - it appears that it does *not* play gameboy and gameboy color games.

DS, and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows as a game others haven't mentioned.

Between movies, Internet and games the PSP is the easy choice for me. If your swayed by the 384th installment of Mario then i guess go for the DS.

Same here. I only ever play 1 or 2 games on PSP and even then only when my DS battery is dead which is rare. I've seen the DS last weeks of infrequent usage. PSP lasts about 1/3 as long.

BTW both the DS and PSP are great for long bathroom breaks. Sure beats reading a stupid magazine.
