Re: NL100: AQ oop, cbet here? fire twice?
Not going to be a particularly insightful response, but its better than nothing...
As with everything in poker this is going to depend on your read of villain and your estimate of his read of you. I don't usually double barrel unknowns, but if you're going to fire twice this is a pretty good board to do it on. Rainbow with a couple of straight draws, but the turn couldn't have helped him any. A 2/3+ pot sized bet (I'd bet $15 or so, but make it consistent with your made hand turn bets) seems legit. Obviously, fold to any resistance and if he just calls then spike the K on the river and bet the pot. Rereading my response gives me the general impression that its worthless, but absent some reads its the best I can do. Perhaps thats why I suck at poker? |

Re: NL100: AQ oop, cbet here? fire twice?
I'm firing again. A typical opponent will have a wide range of hands here. Lots of players will call the flop, with very little, to see if you will fire again. I bet a little over half the pot and pass to a raise.

Re: NL100: AQ oop, cbet here? fire twice?
I like a c/c if you think your A & Q are good as well within reason...it's up to you...I usually check and will fold to a pot bet. Rarely I'd lead out for this reason: If villain has a strong hand such as two pair or a set he will often check it behind. If you then hit your inside draw I would almost venture to overbet the river.

Re: NL100: AQ oop, cbet here? fire twice?
yea i hate a c/c, i c-bet this flop all day, and usually slow down on the turn and c/f probably. i dont like to double barrel often, and usually save it for flops when a scare card hits on the turn, and not when the turn is a blank for most holdings

I would c/c within reason...If he 1/3 potted it I absolutely would call.

Re: NL100: AQ oop, cbet here? fire twice?
Yea we need reads here.
Is he 16/12? If so, I fire again while putting him on a low PP. There are too many situations to go through with too many reads to be able to give you any indication of a play here, but on average I probably shut down here because the flop hits a good % of an unknowns range |
