5/10NL Big turn c/r semibluff
Hand is against someone named AustinJill. Don't know if anyone has played with him, but from what I saw he has a somewhat odd style, and we had been tangling a lot. Pf he seems to play more tagish but I noticed he was VERY often floating my continuation bets in position and then waiting until the river to bet ~2/3 the pot often on a complete bluff. There was also one other big reraised hand I played with him earlier where I threebet in position pf, he called, and then bet almost full pot into me oop. I raised him allin and he quickly folded.

Re: 5/10NL Big turn c/r semibluff
i don't like this at all. c/f turn. if the turn was a red 3 i woudl like this a lot more. i never heard of this guy but from the way you describe him i could see him making some heroic call with ATo.

Re: 5/10NL Big turn c/r semibluff
Ok this was something that I was really unsure about, and I guess it wasn't that great of a play to say the least. My thinking was that his most likely holding was an ace, possibly a big one, but I thought he would be very capible of folding anything other than AQ, as he was not a bad player from what I saw. I also thought it was very unlikely he already had a flush as the A and Q of clubs was already out, so he would have to have Kxcc to have the flush. I further thought there was at least a small chance he was floating me on the flop. All in all, I think he would essentially have to have a set to call me, which he could very reasonably have, but not that often of the time. I also had the flush draw in case I was called by a set, so to me it seemed like a reasonable move. Errors in my judgement were? Thanks.

Re: 5/10NL Big turn c/r semibluff
I'm not sure if it's a good play or not but isn't it too quick to decide that it's a bad play? It looks bad because we know what Hero has, but in Villain's spot, is he gona be willing to call off his whole stack while holding AX? He might call with 2pairs or KJ or KQ with a club, but given that he floats the flop alot, his range is too wide. Although I'm kinda iffy about the fact that he's betting half the pot. Seems like he wants a call. I think I'll find myself a better spot.

Re: 5/10NL Big turn c/r semibluff
be accurate in your terminology. in no way is this a semi-anything, this is just a balls-out full on pure bluff.

I'd guess that about 90% of the time when he calls he will not have a flush. I just want you all to somewhat explain yourselves so I can understand what I don't completely see here. I'm up for some constructive criticism. |
