The guy that takes the joke one step too far
Think of this as a cousin to the "jokes that flopped IRL" thread.
Does everyone know that guy who wants to get in on the joke of the room but always takes it a step too far, just going over the line to the point where it simply becomes awkward for everybody? I was reminded of this today when the following scenario came up. Guy walking into office slips on the door handle and ends up ramming himself right into the door before opening it, so his torso was pressed against the closed door. He walks in and laughs it off, saying "wow sorry I think I just humped that door in front of you guys." Person A: hey, it turned me on. (Everyone chuckles). Person B (guy taking it a step too far): Yeah, haha. I think I have a hard-on! Then everyone just kind of puts their head down hoping the moment goes away. Share your examples of the guy that took the joke one step too far. |

the office http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUWnkkKgpkI [/ QUOTE ] I actually prefer the American Office to the British Office (both are exceptional though), but I think the British version does this much better than Andy's chainsaw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLpHvsfhuVo |

Re: The guy that takes the joke one step too far
just got home from a celts game...excellent example by my friend on the train....
its pretty crowded and there is a couple 18-19 year old girls heading out towards BC dragging along their bags and pillows, etc. Girl 1: Don't fall over! Girl 2: It's ok, I got a firm grip on this pole! Me (Michael Scott voice): That's what she said Girls: (laughter) Friend: Yeah I bet she loves stroking that [censored] too, huh? |

[/ QUOTE ] ugh, this kind of situation drives me nuts. There's a point when a joke has run it's course. We had a friend in high school who constantly tried to add something on to an awesome joke, but always made it worse. We ended up ignoring him all the time, but then he started asking "why does everyone ignore me?" gah socially awkward people |
