misdeal
I'm sure this question has been addressed before but I don't really know how to go about searching it.
The other day in a Home Game, action came to the River card when we had a bit of a misdeal. Two-way pot: Villain was first to act, and checked to Hero. Hero bets t200, action is back on Villain, BUT...the dealer got confused and dealt the River card. Hero quickly tried to cover the River card but Villain saw what it was. What now? |

[/ QUOTE ] Standard- 1) Action completes on the turn. 2) River card is shuffled back into the stub.. don't include the burn card that I assume came off the deck first. 3) Deal river card. 4) Finish the hand. 5) KITN for the dealer, definately. |

Re: misdeal
Aye.. But before #3 I've also seen another burn card dealt.
The reason being (especially in home games) the is reason for the burn cards existence in the first place - so you can't see the back of the community card to be dealt while action is being taken. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry, you're right- I left one part out. Shuffle the deck AFTER action is completed on the turn. That takes care of the "no burn card" problem, because no one sees the top card while action can be taken. |

Re: misdeal
so just to make things clear, correct me if I'm wrong:
Since a card has already been burnt, we leave it burnt. AFTER Turn action is done---> Put River card back in the deck, shuffle, burn AGAIN, and deal new River Card. So does this mean going to the River on this misdeal results in 2 burns total? (The original burn, plus the burn stated in the post above) |

Re: misdeal
I think Larry's saying wait for action to be complete before shuffling and dealing the river WITHOUT a second burn.
since the cards weren't shuffled before action was complete, the players did not see the back of the top card, so the burn is not necessary. I guess you could pull the bad river card and put it face down on top of the deck while waiting to shuffle. The other way that I had seen it done, as I had mentioned above, was that it was immediately pulled back and shuffled in while action was being taken, and then a second burn WAS dealt because you did not wait to shuffle. I don't think the world will end, and I just muddied the waters by putting two cents in here. |
