Just got new CPU, but no Wireless Card!!
So I just got my new Dell XPS 720 and it doesn't seem to have any sort of wireless card. I didn't see any option for wireless cards when I customized it, so I figured it was automatically included (Why doesn't dell have an option for wireless cards anymore???).
So it looks like I need some sort of wireless card or adapter. Can anyone recommend one? I see there are some simple adapters that you just plug into a USB port. Are these good? |

Re: Just got new CPU, but no Wireless Card!!
I imagine the USB ones will get you on the internet just fine. No idea how they do speedwise, but you're almost certainly going to be limited by your actual internet connection anyway. Rather surprised Dell doesn't include an option for one, you can buy the freakin' things at walmart.
Oh also regarding your thread title; a CPU is a part of the whole computer, and saying you got one part but not another kindof makes no sense. Kindof like saying "I got a new (car) engine, but no tape deck!" I really hate car analogies. |

Most desktops don't come with wireless cards. Is your computer in a location far from the rest of your network? In general if you have a way to run the network cable its faster and better to use that instead of going wireless.

[nit]You bought a computer, and it had a CPU in it.
What you said is like saying "I bought a new engine" when you get a new car.[/nit] |
