introduce a band to oot via youtube and wikipedia
live at the rhythm hive - the make-up (the singer's page has a lot more details)
please follow along: youtube link, wikipedia link. i don't know what percentage of oot is in the same boat, but i haven't really heard belle & sebastian, neutral milk hotel, sufjan stevens, etc. i lumped it all into the "music for bloggers" category. so as far as i'm concerned, just about any indie/hipster stuff is fair game. let's just not do metallica, billy joel, kelly clarkson, or anything else almost everyone has heard. edit 1: rap is allowed, just don't start big fights about it. edit 2: try to make it something we can easily buy (itunes, amazon, best buy) if we like it. |

Is rap allowed? [/ QUOTE ] sure, i just ask that any big arguments/discussions about it are taken outside. to me, the rap threads tend to have frequent, protracted, and uninteresting fights. |

Blackbud
They're a really bluesy rock band (in the Hendrix/Cream/Zeppelin sense) but the singer has a voice very similar to Jeff Buckley's. A dodgy live recording of a gig i went to, featuring the end of one song, Heartbeat, and then another, Days Passing Away, it features a lot jamming Music Video for the single 'Heartbeat' Music Video from the single 'Barefoot Dancing' |
