Default Overpairs vs. aggression...when do we get it in?

Villain has only been at table a couple orbits. Vague impression he's a bit aggro but not really out of line.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $41.50
BB: $25.50
UTG: $27.40
CO: $6.95
Hero (BTN): $25.50

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG calls $0.25, CO folds, Hero raises to $1.25, SB folds, BB calls $1, UTG calls $1

Flop: ($3.85) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $2.50, BB raises to $5, UTG folds, Hero calls $2.50

Turn: ($13.85) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets all-in for $19.25, Hero calls all-in for $19.25

So when I get it in in these spots and win I think I made a good play and when I call off my stack I think I should have known better. Is this call pretty standard? Anyone folding? Pushing to the minraise?

I might be folding here. If you're planning to get it in, why not 3bet flop?

[/ QUOTE ]I usually take a minbet as v.strong vs. marginal/probing. Pushing the flop only gets called when I'm beaten (and sometimes AJ). If I just call flop I can get the probers to bet again before getting it in.

min check raise then overbet shove.. your Q's are toast. He's prolly got 4's or 7's.. it makes me puke as many times as I've paid these idiots off doing this.

[/ QUOTE ]I get in a zone with OP's and often get it in before fully evaluating. I won this one (he had 88) but I'd love to hear more opinions about how strong the check/minraise is here vs. an ~aggro/unknown.

Well, I would probably bet bigger on the flop - around 3.5, but it doesnt matter too much.

I pretty much agree with your statement here:

"So when I get it in in these spots and win I think I made a good play and when I call off my stack I think I should have known better"

Its a tough decision on the turn here. I will call or fold based on reads/my feel of the player + TBH I will rarely fold this if I am at all tilting.

This is a set so many more times IMO and a very marginal spot. I think I'd have to call the raise and c/f the turn to a shove. If he bet light on the turn i might push on him depending on the villain.

I 3bet on the flop here. If the guy is a Aggro as you say, aggro is pushing almost any draw here, as well as Jx. It does depend to what degree of an Aggro he is, but I rarely ever give aggros credit for anything, especially when I have an overpair at these stakes. If it is an aggro that rarely stacks of with TP or any draw then you are beat, that would be the only situation Im folding an overpair to this guy.
The villain shoves the turn because you slowed way down after he check/minraised you which in Aggros mind means that you probably just have over cards, so hes going to shove because he doesnt think you will call with what he thinks is an AK/AQ or whatever the aggfish thinks.
