Default Nine.com casino CS asks for your password??

I just created an account at nine.com casino. I got some weird error page when i created the account and a live chat window popped up automatically.

Peter: i am here to help you or answer any questions you may have
Peter: Can I have your username and password please?

WTF?

Sure, i'm gonna give him my password. First thing that i could thought of was the site was hacked or something because of the error message and because of the fact that the live chat window popped up automatically.

I obviously didn't tell him my password as every site i've played so far(dozens) all state that never reveal your password to ANYONE and only use it to log in to the page or software. He could obviously see my password which made it even more weirder. well of course he wouldn't ask it if he didn't know it if he was a real CS but the fact that their passwords aren't encrypted makes me really worried.

I ended up talking to him on the phone. The number i saw was +520, nothing else. that's doesn't prove anything either way. I actually started believing him after like 5 mins he talked without pausing. I then told him my version and asked how it looked to him. the thing with the password obviously. he said it looked like the cs is taking care of things and keeping information secure etc.

he actually said my password out loud and told me he was in an office and if people walked by him and heard it they were just employees. Wow, that sure makes me confortable.

I honestly don't know what to think. If they are real they do things very differently. He said that they are like 3rd biggest company(on some scale, i couldn't hear that part) with 170k clients.

If you are uncomfortable with the site, don't put any money there.

I'm definitely not going to. I was just wondering if there is something else going on and what your experiences were with this site.

There are few threads in the bonuses forum about ninecasino and no one there mentioned anything like this so that's why I'm asking.

I had same thing happen to me. I had a mixup when I setup my account and didn't get the bonus credited, so contacted support and they asked my user name/password. I also thought it was wierd but gave it anyway.

Ran my $200 up to $650 and cashed out no problems though. Cashout took less than an hour. Was impressed.

actually, there are 2 or 3 of them that mention this, but, yeah, they did this to me too. I thought it was creepy, but gave it up. Cashouts were very fast, though (like 30 minutes to neteller).

I agree that is kind of messed up. I don't blame you a bit for not wanting to give anyone yr pw. That is just good sense -- I NEVER give out a pw (and IMO opinion neither should anyone else). Seriously, if you are not comfortable don't play there. I suspect your money might be safe there (despite this seeming incompetence), but don't take any chances you are not comfortable with.

any site which is primarily a sportsbook which also offers poker and casino on the side, asking for password over the phone is standard and nothing to worry about. this is how they record and confirm voice wagers which is the majority of their business.

as others mentioned, you may not have to give your password if you use live chat or callback service. but it is almost never a security issue.
