HU hand from 30r
so a friend of mine played this hand while heads up in the tilt 30 rebuy a few days ago:
we have approx a 3:1 CL on villain. this is the 7th hand of HU so no real reads but we know him to be very aggro and spewy. in a previous tourney a few weeks ago villain cold 4bet shoved on our threebet with KQo and no fold equity. the hand (might not be 100% accurate but close enough): blinds 5k/10k, we have approx 1.1 mill to villain's 340k. villain limps button, we raise to 40k with 77. villain calls. flop Q Q 9 rainbow, we lead 55k and he shoves for 300k total. what range do you put him on, what's your play, and why? |

Re: HU hand from 30r
I fold here because even against a hand like KJ or T8 your about 50/50, your decently behind JT, and your crushed if hes shoving any Q's or 9's, and I doubt he has random overs here often, but even if he has like AT, your only 60/40, I just think his range needs to be such a HUGE % bluffs for a call to be profitable.

Re: HU hand from 30r
Fwiw, the crucial part to defining his range is my belief (this is my hand) that he shoves a lot of small pairs here, a lot of random hands as a bluff, and a lot of random ace highs.
Obviously you can not tell this from a raw HH, but given our history I felt it necessary to include those types of hands while trying to define his range as he views me as real aggro and I doubt he's ever trying to give me much credit on a paired board. |

Re: HU hand from 30r
it seems contradictory to me that you think he is spazzy enough to shove "random hands as a bluff and a lot of random ace highs" but at the same time you think he is just limp-calling a small pair with 35 bbs (rather than limp-shoving)

Re: HU hand from 30r
Does villain ever actually shove a Q on this flop or is he almost always flatting?

Re: HU hand from 30r
uhh, I doubt he shoves a Q here, maybe 5% of the time or so? I imagine he flats/or raises to 140k or so with a queen.
