SB: $730.05 keikiwai (BB): $418.20 UTG: $626.20 CO: $110.95 BTN: $410.00 Preflop: keikiwai is dealt 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG folds, CO calls $4.00, BTN folds, SB calls $2.00, keikiwai checks Flop: ($12) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, keikiwai checks, CO checks Well, we hit the flop. But let's not get carried away... In poker it is important to be deceptive, so if we check our mp, we'll be able to milk it later in the hand. Turn: ($12) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, keikiwai bets $10.00, CO folds, SB raises to $20.00, keikiwai calls $10.00 Ok, we're looking golden now. We'll throw out a little vbet.... we got min raised.... no problems this is obv. a bluff... we don't want to raise a bluff we want to string them along, so we flat call. River: ($52) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, keikiwai bets all-in for $394.20, SB calls $394.20 Ok... villain checked..... signaling he is giving up the hand w/ his J high or whatever bluff.... no worries though, we summon our secret weapon, "The Fish Catcher." This move works because we do something that is so incredibly weird that it can only be a bluff. We just flat out shove. In villain's eyes this can't possibly be a vbet cause it's just way to big too expect a call. This means in villain's eyes our hand has ZERO showdown value! This means villain MUST call us with hands as low as 5 high because we obviously have 32o Pot Size: $840.40 ($2 Rake) SB had 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a straight, Four to Eight) and WON (+$420.20) keikiwai had 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (three of a kind, Sevens) and LOST (-$418.20) Well, that was unusual, but overall this is massively +EV GL at the tables, and remember when you want to build a big pot quickly on the river, just reach into your quiver and load up the old "Fish Catcher" |

Re: hot to play limped pots using \"The Fish Catcher\"
also i think your river shove is game theoretically pretty much optimal since there's 52 dollars in the pot and you're betting $395... 52/395= you only need to be correct about 13 percent of the time to make $$$!!!

Re: hot to play limped pots using \"The Fish Catcher\"
well at the lower levels "the fish catcher" (god i love that name) indeed is a great move to make against certain opponents and yeah it's very ev+.
but at 400NL it's hard to believe this can be ev+ lol |
