Villain is one of those semi-decent semi-lousy players that inhabit the lower levels, like 26/9/1. I have been pretty aggro at this table so far, but am playing weak lately due to a massive downswing and running bad.
Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 6 players Converter Stack sizes: Hero: $126.65 UTG+1: $48.05 CO: $278.70 Button: $43.10 SB: $27.05 BB: $100 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero raises to $4, UTG+1 calls, CO calls, 3 folds. yeah I folded here but felt like a weak-tight nit for doing it.
Glad to hear others agree. The fact that you have to fold a hand this strong here though just emphasizes to me the power of position and the importance of raising all kinds of [censored] on the flop IP against a PFR. I don't do it nearly enough. |

what do you do if you c/c and a diamond rolls out? do you check again or do you bet to rep the flush?

I c/c cos I think its a really good way to get value here
and yad, I suggest you try and work in bluff raiising flops to your game. It works sooo well vs Tags, as lets face it, they're not going to hit the flop that often, they cbet nearly always, and OOP, they have to just give up |

First i'll comment on how you played it then tell you how I would've played it. You lead the flop for $10 and he raises it $25. At this point he could have a flush draw. If he has a flush draw, probably the nut flush draw. So even if he has the nut flush draw only, he is still 45% to win. So even if you think your King is good, you're not much of a favorite. You are also out of posistion. This is why raising UTG with KJo isnt a great play. Just so hard to play out of posistion if you get called and if you dont get called, you win the whooping blinds. Not a hand I like to play, ESPICALLY utg (though raising with it is better than limping). I wouldve just mucked preflop.
