Some guy posts 1st hand in, mutters to himself a bunch and 4bets me
30/60 at the Bell
Guy posts in like UTG +2. He is BlackGuy#3 who plays at the Bell. Yeah, you know him. Not Teddy, not that guy who plays tight, the other one. Mentally I recognize him as a stupid-agro, but this could be wrong - I get the 3 black guys confused sometimes, as they all look alike to me. So 2 folds and he raises his post. Naturally I 3bet K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in CO. All fold, guy 4bets. Oh, his monologue: All monologue is muttered - I may have misheard him, but you get the idea. (raises)"yeah you all knew I was going to do that!" (I 3bet)"Did I look? I bet I didn't look. Did he look?" (he 4bets)"yeehaaahhahha" Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I check. Turn: J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He bets, I call. River 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] He checks, I bet. Comments welcome on all streets. |

Bet the flop.
As played, the turn and river seem fine. I'm intending to fold. Always hard to put villain on spazzy hands but QQ/JJ/99 look very likely at this point. |

oh, it seems I completed a heart flush on the river. This was an error in posting. No flush completed on the river. I think the flop was rainbow.

I think the flop check is an advanced play I don't understand.

against an aggro guy that can fold 99 or something i like it. it's a line i use HU postflop ALOT on the internets, but rarely in a pot this size.

Re: Some guy posts 1st hand in, mutters to himself a bunch and 4bets me
If you think there is a decent chance that he believes your 3-bet is pseudo-random and just trying to push him around on his first hand in, you can bet the flop/turn with impunity. His hand is probably weaker than you think it is and he won't give you credit for TPGK on the flop.
You're missing value by not betting the flop. |

[ QUOTE ] I get the 3 black guys confused sometimes, as they all look alike to me. [/ QUOTE ] Come on man ... [/ QUOTE ] There have been posts in this forum in the past about the 2 black guys who play mid stakes at the Bell. Someone theorized that there were actually 4. I was just making a joke on that. My apologies if it doesn't sound right. People who play at the bell should know who I'm talking about. He's 5'9", maybe 45, 215 (meaning some extra weight, but certainly not obese) bald, I think. He typically buys in for the minimum, but rebuys like 10 times during the night. He'll frequently give a lot of action and then fold for one bet on the turn or river making you scratch your head. Plays a lot of hands and plays them aggressively. Or, he's the thrid most commonly seen black guy at the Bell. Everyone knows Black Teddy, then there is that tall, relatively skinny guy who plays pretty passively and is most likely a losing player, and then there is this guy. These are, to my knowledge, the only three regulars that are black who play at the bell. There are more elderly white women than black people who play at these stakes regularly. |
