$4/$8 Live -- Thin Flop Call
Somewhat tight + mildly aggressive $4/$8 fullring game. I am losing all my monies because poker hates me, and I guess that's the way things go after posting 11 straight winning sessions.
I call from LP with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] after 2 limpers, the button calls, and the blinds both call (6 handed). Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 SB) Checked to the guy on my immediate right who bets, Hero calls (?) With two backdoor draws, a dubious overcard, and the possibility that someone behind me will raise, this is a clear fold right? |

Re: $4/$8 Live -- Thin Flop Call
Nothing pot, nothing hand, no read given that the flop bet figures to be light. Routine fold.

Re: $4/$8 Live -- Thin Flop Call
I thought in an earlier thread everyone voted to peel the flop with the bd nut flush draw. No? With 2 backdoor draws and an overcard, I don't think the call can be very wrong...

Re: $4/$8 Live -- Thin Flop Call
Closing the action behind a bunch of lemming calls, I might make a loose call here and you could sell me that it's a good call. With so many players to act and a small pot, I'm inclined to be done with the hand, although I might put in a loose raise if I think the bettor is betting into pots like this too often and I have a tight/winning table image.

Re: $4/$8 Live -- Thin Flop Call
I might make a peel like this if I have been folding alot and I think some of the more thinking players have noticed. Here, it doesn't seem as if the bettor is taking a shot at you in particular, given the BTN left to act behind you, so folding is probably more correct than calling. You might consider the chance that hitting either of your runner-runners or a lone Ace will put the bettor on tilt. Nice implied tilt odds for the rest of the session, with him being on your immediate right.

If you had 2 overcards as well and you have position then we could talk about a peel, this pot is tiny - drop it.
