Tropicana Story in Philadelphia Daily News today
http://www.philly.com/philly/busines...st_class_.html
Big enough staff to be first class? By Suzette Parmley Inquirer Staff Writer ATLANTIC CITY - Can a casino owner pare its staff so drastically that it can no longer run a "first-class" operation? That is what the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, which regulates Atlantic City's gambling market, must decide about the owner of the Tropicana Casino & Resort in licensing hearings over the next week and a half. In the commission's files are complaints from Tropicana customers about encountering bedbugs, roaches, overflowing toilets, and bathrooms that reeked of urine. The complaints were among information Tropicana management wanted to have excluded from the hearing. |

""They seem to think you can run a first-class facility on the cheap," he said. "But one person cleaning 10 bathrooms in an eight-hour shift is not an expectation of a first-class facility."
I'm trying to think if it's reasonable to clean a bathroom in 45 minutes... ? |

I wonder if they're talking about the public bathrooms located throughout the casino, and not hotel bathrooms.

[/ QUOTE ] The men's room outside the poker room is absolutely disgusting. I've found the hotel rooms to be pretty nice - not Borgata nice, but I've had no complaints. |

I wonder if they're talking about the public bathrooms located throughout the casino, and not hotel bathrooms. [/ QUOTE ] I think they are talking about one housekeeper cleaning 10 rooms in a shift. This is impossible to do for a first class property. The GF of a friend of mine is a housekeeper at Trump International in NYC and she cleans at most 4 suites in a shift. Most days it is 3. BTW, here's a tip from her: Don't ever drink from the glasses in the bathrooms at hotels. Sometimes the housekeepers will clean them with dirty cloths. |

Re: Tropicana Story in Philadelphia Daily News today
The decline started when they refused to compete against the Borgata and the Taj for the poker revenue. They should have expanded the room to the outer slot bank with about another thirty tables. They had 6/12, 10/20 games. They were doing a great job with the daily tourneys. What the hell happened?
