JJ 6 handed
Full table just turned short and the game's not great.
Utg is a very very loose player but not a total idiot. He raises a lot preflop, limps a lot preflop, but you can tell the gears are turning. Of course this does not mean he has the discipline to follow whatever those gears are telling him. Co is a friend and very strong post flop player but certainly on the nitty side preflop. He and I don't usually get too out of line with each other unless we're both steaming (which might be the case here) Sb is new to the table and it's his second hand. I did play with him earlier short and he seemed solid but a bit on the passive side. Utg raises, co 3-barrels, I cap JJ on the button, sb calls cold and it's 4 ways. Flop is demonic 666. sb checks, utg checks, co donks, I raise, sb calls, utg calls, co 3-bets, I cap, everyone calls still 4 handed. Turn 8. sb checks, utg checks, co bets, everyone calls. River 10, sb donks, utg folds, co calls, I fold. ? |

Re: JJ 6 handed
I raise the turn as the last $$$$$ I plan on putting in the pot.

Re: JJ 6 handed
I would have called one more bet on the river. Sound like you may have folded the best hand here.

Re: JJ 6 handed
You're gettin what, over 20-1 on the river? Cant say that I like this fold. I also hate the flop raise. Waiting to raise the turn does a much better job of protecting your hand.

[/ QUOTE ] Who says I have the best hand and need to protect it? This looks like a case where everyone has pairs and it's about finding out whose pair is best. With the exception being utg. |

Re: JJ 6 handed
Can you explain what capping the flop accomplishes? It's pretty unlikely you have the best hand since the CO is not likely to 3-bet the field without an overpair that has yours drawing to two outs. On the turn, CO is clearly betting the best hand at this point, either for total value with AA/KK and/or trying to avoid a free card that beats him with something like QQ.
One you helped build this huge pot with your flop play, you're close to priced in for your two outer (w/ implied odds you are cool probably). But I think the flop play created this situation for you and I think it was less than ideal. The river is a standard fold based on the player you are talking about - not because he isn't capable of a play but because he is good enough that (based on his preflop, flop, turn and now river play) you are good never. Re: JJ 6 handed
I wouldn't cap the flop and there is no way in hell u should raise the turn.
River fold seems fine, although CO having 99 and sb AT/9T would be funny as hell. |
